Welcome.
This little corner of the world is new to me, and you’ll be watching me build it in real time.
I’m here because I needed a sanctuary of my own, a space for connecting—reconnecting—with the old things, the good things, the real things that made/make me feel like me.
I’m a mother, a wife, an employee, a coach, a student. But more importantly, I’m some kind of artist. I don’t like to paint myself into a corner, but let’s just say that my primary vehicles of expression are images and words—though these days, both are hard to come by. I hope that this space changes that.
In the past, I found success and fulfillment in creating the things that I needed. And so that is what you will find here: my exploration of the things that I find to be essentials for living—and taste. Not in the fashion, food, or wine sense, but in the sense of knowing what resonates—of knowing what you want more of, knowing what you want less of, figuring out what no longer fits, and choosing to move toward that which is calling you.
Taste, to me, is about discernment. Intuition. Refinement. It’s about the way we make meaning in this world. It’s how we build a life.
I might write about wine. I might write about sports. I might write about parenting. I might ask a lot of questions—the kinds of questions that you probably have, too. And so, it might just be us in conversation, talking about life and art. Life as art. Us as art in this life, and what that means.
I might also write about food, rewiring the mind, the beauty and complexity of becoming, resistance and courage, the tension between ambition and rest, what it means to lead with softness and power at the same time.
So yes—this is a place for inspiration, observation, self-inquiry. A place for cultivating our individual and collective taste—for truth, for depth, for a life well-lived. My essentials for living.
I’d love for you to subscribe so that you can see every post and have access to the TPOT archives. I also want to make a lot (zines, photos, poems & stories, retreats, workshops, community), and with your paid subscription, I get to create more and share more, and wouldn’t that just be lovely for everyone?
